In this layered painting, the sky is reimagined—not just as a backdrop, but as a living, breathing presence. Deep blues and golden yellows unfold in conversation, intertwining like voices in a chorus. Shapes drift, meet, and merge—echoes of thoughts reaching for each other, like dreams finding resonance. The sky here is not distant—it leans in, listens, responds. It remembers. It sings.
This piece is a meditation on connection—between light and shadow, memory and moment, self and sky. The cool blues bring quiet, warm yellows hold onto the sun, and fine lines trace the invisible threads between sound and feeling, between the seen and the sensed. It invites the viewer into a world where dreams don’t just wonder—they are answered by the sky itself.
'When Skies Sang And Dreams Replied' has over 30 layers of paint and collage contained within it. Building it up layer by layer creates depth, texture and history. The lumps and bumps on the surface make it almost tactile and the interplay of shape next to line, collage next to paint and colour next to monocrome creates interest and drama within the piece.creates interest and drama within the piece.
