The circuitry fragment photographed during last week’s field record appears to form part of a larger surface structure.
At the time of documentation only the embedded component was clearly visible.
Further examination of the surrounding surface has revealed a broader layered system where architectural traces, signal pathways, and mineral deposits intersect.
Several linear channels extend beyond the original fragment site, suggesting the circuitry once connected to a wider infrastructural network.
These systems now sit partially obscured beneath later surface formations.
Observation: System becoming landscape.
Structures of this type appear to mark a transitional moment during the early Rewilding Phase when technological systems remained intact long enough for environmental processes to reorganise around them.
What once carried signals now forms part of the terrain itself.

This is a 30 × 30 study, part of the process of developing the larger Rooted Age paintings.
I was curious to see what would happen when circuitry met the surface.
